June 10-14, 2013

Colossal Coaster World will challenge kids to face their fears and trust God as they zip along the roller coaster of life. Through every twist, turn, and dive kids will learn that God has not given them a spirit of fearfulness, but a spirit of power, love, and sound judgment. At the end of the week, kids will want to do it all over again!

VBS is for kids who have completed Kindergarten through those who have completed 6th grade.  Register online by clicking the link below.  Call the church office at 317-852-2616 for additional information

Pastor Jim Bohrer

Tragedy, horror, and evil once again struck as a nation.  Families destroyed, lives forever marred with scarring both physical and emotional.  We as believers grieve because the “thief” has once again made his work manifest.  “The thief comes ONLY to rob, steal, kill and destroy.  I have come that you may have life and life more abundantly.”  (John 10:10)  We experience a greater shock as a nation because we do not understand that our inability to contain evil is related to the unraveling of our culture and civilization.  We used to have mindset and philosophy that values life and each individual.  We believed evil existed and rejected thoughts and systems of beliefs that rejected the God of the Bible and His truths.

We have assumed that people by their nature will embrace these values that our culture used to teach through the church and even public institutions.  Through these two men (and more likely, others), we are facing the ancient world view of wrathful and cruel gods.  We also are dealing tribal enmity that will only laugh at the Attorney General’s attempt to deal with these situations as isolated “crimes.”  Evil is a cancer.  It looks for weakness and loves to destroy because that is what it does.

Evil takes many forms and will constantly morph and repackage itself in new ways that will entice the unregenerate minds.  While I believe in law and enforcement and armies, one cannot look at the unfolding situation and realize the carnal damage two individuals sold out to evil can commit.  Just look at the expense, in lives, time, energy and money that has been involved.  We as Christians must realize that our work is important.  That evangelism, changing hearts with a message of life and love is the only way to defeat this specter of evil in our midst.  And that ultimately, our hope is not in a political revolution like our terrorists hope for, but our hope is in a spiritual revival where People of every tribe and nation know what it is to be loved by the true God and to love others as Jesus loves them.
