LEADERSHIP & STAFF
Dr. Jim Bohrer, Senior Pastor
Sarah and I came to Hope Community Church while serving the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. At that time we had Abbey and Emma was on the way. We sensed God was calling us to focus on a local church where our family could be an integral part of the ministry. The rapid growth of Brownsburg has allowed us to meet so many new people and members over the years.
As the pastor, I enjoy getting to visit new people in the community and seeing the life change Jesus brings when people connect with the Lord and get involved in a local church. Sarah has been gifted as Hope’s lead worshiper and every Sunday she enjoys guiding people as they sing praise to the Lord. Our four children Abbey, Emma, Lauren, and Josiah have active roles in the church and ministry. We all view Hope as our family and home. I hope you will join us and I would love to be your pastor!
Jim has earned the Bachelors of Science at Clemson University, the Master of Divinity and Doctorate Degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jim loves spending time with his family, friends, reading and is an avid tennis player.
Mackenzie Zambrano, Youth Minister
Pastor Mac joined our full-time staff family April of 2016. While serving and working with a growing youth ministry, he studies at Moody Bible College. Mac brings a great love of the Word, sports, and students. He participates with the families at Hope and involves the students with all ages here in our church and community. He encourages all the kids to reach out and cheers them on at their games and concerts. We wonder how he covers so much when he leads two weekly Bible studies, Life Groups, mission trips, outreaches, weekend events, as well as spontaneous game nights with the students. He has a heart for the Lord and dedication to discipling the students here in Brownsburg and Avon. Pastor Mac would love to meet you and your student(s)!
Dr. Gene Crouch, Director of Education and Discipleship.
Brother Gene is fast becoming an old man – 70 years old but stays young teaching College in two Colleges and plays with his grandchildren who are all young. Gene met his wife of 38 years while a student in Seminary in California where they both attended College and Gene earned his first seminary degree. Added degrees were added as needed, a Th.M. at 45 years of age and his Th.D. at 60. Gene and Jan have four grown children and four grandchildren.
Gene, with his family, has Pastored and taught in Bible Colleges and Grad Schools stateside and internationally. Gene’s great delight in life is to see people come to know our Lord and grow to love Him, obey Him and serve Him. They came to Hope after moving into the Brownsburg, Avon area.
Sarah Bohrer, Praise Band Leader and Children’s
Sarah grew up in a home with parents who loved Jesus and were committed to the local church. She is grateful that she can’t remember a time when she didn’t know Jesus and the love of the church. At the age of seven, she chose to follow Jesus with her whole heart and was baptized. She loves being a wife, Mom, leading worship and a good cup of coffee with friends. She works part time for the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana planning children’s camps, events and VBS trainings for the Southern Baptist Churches of Indiana. Sarah has earned her Bachelor of Music from Colorado State University and Masters of Christian Education Degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Sarah enjoys her four children, spending time with her friends, being involved in show choir and musicals with the kids, reading and conversation over a warm cup of tea.
Stacy Brumley, Director of Sunday School
Stacy, Kevin and Chloe hail from the great State of Texas. She and Kevin attended church for years, but found that growth and connection came when they committed to Sunday school. She loves to be part of seeing guests and members connect through the study of the Word, the fellowship and ministry of the church. You will find Stacy ready to greet you with a smile and a big Hello. If there is more than one of you, you will hear, “How are y’all doing?”
